Load rating is the single most important number on a mezzanine. Get it right and the floor is safe and efficient; over-spec it and you pay for steel you don't need.
What the numbers mean
kPa (kilopascals) is a measure of distributed load. Altivo's standard rating is 3 kPa, which is 300 kg per square metre - suitable for general storage and office use.
For heavier storage, racking or plant, higher ratings such as 5 kPa (500 kg per square metre) are available. The right number comes from what you'll actually put on the floor.
Choosing the right rating
The trick is matching the rating to real use, not guessing high. Tell us what the floor carries - boxes, pallets, machinery, people - and we engineer to it, so it's safe without wasting money.
